Call for Speakers

Returning for our second year, we’re on the hunt for speakers  passionate about design. If that’s you, we’d love to hear your voice! All levels of experience are welcome, from industry veterans to new voices brimming with enthusiasm.

Please review the speaker expectations prior to submitting your application.

This year’s Conference celebrates the spirit of Aloha and its influence on Hawai’i, the world of design, and the intersection of both. Aloha embodies love, compassion, and a sense of community. This theme’s about reflecting on how the principles of Aloha integrated into various design disciplines can create meaningful, inclusive, and sustainable solutions, and about being intentional about transforming design with our Aloha going forward. We’d love for this year’s sessions to explore what Aloha in design looks like, feels like, and means, by touching upon one or more of the following values of Aloha:

  • Akahi: kindness, to be expressed with tenderness
  • Lōkahi: humility, to be expressed with modesty
  • Olu’olu: agreeable, to be expressed with pleasantness
  • Ha’aha’a: unity, to be expressed with harmony
  • Ahonui: patience, to be expressed with perseverance

Speaker Selection

  • First time speakers are welcome and encouraged to apply!
  • Sessions will be selected based on the following criteria:
    • Relevant to the goals and interests of the UXHI community
    • Fits within the theme and other selected sessions
